Certificate Program in Trauma Treatment within Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Populations

William James College, through support from the Disabled Persons Protection Commission, is pleased to announce a new online Certificate Program in Trauma Treatment within I/DD Populations. Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities experience abuse, specifically sexual assault, at rates higher than other populations, but there are not nearly enough clinicians to treat these survivors. We have created this certificate program, in order to try to increase the availability of well trained, trauma informed clinicians to specifically support these clients. The Certificate program will include a series of workshops combined with Community of Practice sessions to supplement learning, which will culminate in a certificate and micro-credentials. Participants can choose to attend individual or multiple workshops! All participants will receive Continuing Education credits and applicable micro-credentials for their participation in this program. Participants who complete all 6 Workshops plus 4 Community of Practice sessions will receive our overall Certificate in Trauma Treatment within I/DD Populations. Each workshop is valued at 6 Continuing Education Credits, while each Community of Practice session equates to 1. Participants can receive a maximum of 40 Continuing Education Credits.
